The elderly woman filed the lawsuit for theoretically not having authorized an image in the artist’s documentary

The Rio de Janeiro courts have given singer Anitta 15 days to present evidence in defense of a lawsuit filed by an elderly fan who claims she did not authorize an image of her to be aired in the documentary “Anitta – Made in Honório”. The artist did not comment.

According to the TJ-RJ, Anitta said that she had lost the files from her home’s CCTV and that this would prevent the lawsuit from going ahead. Judge Josué de Matos Ferreira ordered that this allegation be proven within this period.

According to him, the footage would be “relevant evidence” in the case. In the lawsuit, the elderly woman said that she had been the target of “several mockeries” because of the way she was presented in the production.

The woman appears in the fifth episode and, according to what is shown in the series, she would have broken into the singer’s house. In the lawsuit, however, the lady says that her entry into the property was duly authorized. The scene takes place from minute 20 of the documentary.

In addition to this case, a dancer named Kelly who appears for a few seconds in the third episode of the same series claims that she didn’t authorize her appearance and that she didn’t receive credits. For this reason, she has gone to court to claim R$50,000 in compensation for moral and material damages.

According to Gabriel de Paula Ferreira, the dancer’s lawyer, it doesn’t matter whether it was one or two seconds of exposure. “Legally, the fact that gives rise to damage is the image broadcast. Even the trainees on the show received due credit at the end of the project, but my client didn’t,” he told F5.
