The actor Andrew Garfield going through a good moment in his career after his participation in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”; However, before the arachnid hero, not everything was rosy in his life.
And it is that in a recent interview he said that he did not pass the audition for “The Chronicles of Narnia” for an unusual reason.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor confessed that he auditioned to become Prince Caspian in “The Chronicles of Narnia”; however, he was rejected because he was not “handsome enough”.
“I remember being so desperate. I auditioned for Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia and I thought, ‘This could be, this could be’. And that handsome, brilliant actor Ben Barnes ended up getting the part. I think it was between him and me, and I remember being obsessed.” Garfield said.
“I asked my agent: Why not me? Eventually he got tired of my incessant complaining and said, ‘It’s because they don’t think you’re handsome enough, Andrew.’ Ben Barnes is a very handsome and talented man. So in hindsight I’m not unhappy with the decision and I think he did a beautiful job,” added the actor.
Despite being rejected in “The Chronicles of Narnia”, Andrew Garfield did not throw in the towel and participated in films such as “The Imaginary of Doctor Parnassus” (2009), “Never leave me” (2010) and “The social network” (2010 ).
In 2012 his big break came with “The Amazing Spider-Man”, where he played the famous Marvel hero. While the film was not the success they hoped for, the sequel was made in 2014.
