The GMA T.33 receives a new Spider version with targa roof that completes the family of the young brand founded by the designer of the McLaren F1.

Gordon Murray does not stand still despite his 76 years of age. If he did not have enough with designing the McLaren F1 a few decades ago, now he devotes his time to create supercars with his brand GMA. Always with a V12 naturally aspirated engine and a truly impressive aesthetic. Now, it is the turn of the new T.33 Spider.

It is a sports car that sits just below the GMA T.50 and will now have a convertible version. The coupe was announced last year and this new edition will hit the roads later this year. Its roof will have two removable panels that can be stored in the front trunk, in the style of the iconic Porsche Carrera GT.

Although that space will be unused, the GMA T.33 Spider will have a compartment under its rear wings with up to 90 liters of capacity. A rather clever solution that we have seen in other cars such as the Pagani.

One of its great curiosities is that the engine intake will be suspended a few centimeters above the roof to continue feeding the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine with 617 hp up to 11,100 rpm. A beast courtesy of Cosworth that will be linked to a manual gearbox.

Unlike the T.50, the new GMA T.33 will be homologated for the whole world. However, its Spider version will cost close to 2 million euros compared to 1.37 million pounds for the coupe version. A cost that is justified by the materials used in this new version. And of course, it will be a limited edition of only 100 units.

At the moment, it seems that the company continues to move forward in a beginning that is very reminiscent of great brands of the current scene. Gordon Murray has already launched a total of four models, including the radical GMA T.50S that can only be driven on the track.
