Odell Beckham Junior has been a superstar football player ever since he entered his college team of LSU. But in 8 years of playing in the NFL, OBJ has not once made it to the Super Bowl!

Now that OBJ has moved to the Los Angeles Rams, his dreams of winning the big game might finally come true!

8 Years And 3 Teams

Odell Beckham Junior has been playing in the NFL since 2014. His first team was the New York Giants, which he joined after being picked 12th overall in the first round.

12th might sound low, but OBJ was the 3rd wide receiver to be picked that year. So compared to those of his same skill level, 3rd is pretty high. The contract he signed was for 4 years and those 4 years were beautiful.

OBJ was declared one of the best rookies of all time, earning the Offensive Rookie of the Year award for two magazines. He became the youngest player to ever pose on the cover of Madden.

He did all of this while constantly nursing one injury or another. Although Beckham was considered a fantastic player, his constant injuries made him a liability. When the 4 years were up, the New York Giants decided not to keep OBJ on their books, having been inactive for the final four games.

That’s when our boy moved to the Cleveland Browns. He stayed with this team for two years.

While with the Browns, OBJ played in 29 games, creating 114 receptions for a total of 1,586 yards. He also completed 7 touchdown passes.

Again this two year stint was littered with injury after injury. It got to the point where Odell Beckham Senior blamed fellow teammate Mayfield for an inadequate pass which led to a fumble and a torn ACL.

The Browns released OBJ from his contract only recently, which brings us to this season’s game.

OBJ is now with the Los Angeles Rams and is currently without injury. As long as Beckham can stay healthy from now until the big game, the Super Bowl predictions suggest that the Rams are the favorites to win. OBJ might finally get his wish granted!

Breaking Records As A Rookie

In his first year, OBJ missed out on the majority of the training camp, preseason matches, and the first four games of the season. As you can guess, an injury caused this delay.

However, when OBJ finally got onto the field, he started making waves! In his first game, he made a touchdown and 4 receptions for a total of 44 yards. In his first game on Monday Night Football, OBJ caught 7 passes for 108 yards total. And during his first Sunday Night Football game, the man caught 10 catches for a total of 146 yards, along with two touchdowns.

This amazing record dubbed him the “catch of the year”!  Beckham earned the record for the first NFL rookie to complete at least 12 catches in a season.

We have already mentioned some of the other names this living legend has been given, but let’s repeat them now. Two different magazines named this rookie the Offensive Rookie of the year. The first was Associated Press, and the second was Pro Football Writers Association.

OBJ was voted, by his peers, to cover the game Madden. It was the 16th version of the video game.

Every Award But One

All of these awards should make this amazing player happy, right? Well, there is one big one he is still missing – Super Bowl Champion. When with the Cleveland Browns, his team never reached the Super Bowl, and the same goes for the New York Giants.

It feels so strange the OBJ has never felt the buzz of a Super Bowl win, especially considering how phenomenal his abilities are. But now that this athlete has joined the Los Angeles Rams, it can all change!

Was Los Angeles The Right Move

From OBJs point of view, moving to the Rams was the right move. This is the closest he has been to earning that much wanted title, and the Rams themselves are constantly proving themselves to be a phenomenal team.

From the Rams point of view, the swap would be great – as long as OBJ stays healthy. When this team player is on the field he is a force like no other, but getting him on the field is the problem.

Summary

We are just days away from the 56th Super Bowl game. Odell Beckham Junior is inches away from victory. As long as he continues to train smoothly, this could be his year.
