Mexican actor Octavio Ocana, who gave life to ‘Benito’ in the series “Neighbors”, died after starring in a police chase in the municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli in Mexico.
A shot caused by himself would have caused his death, according to a statement from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico.
Through its official Facebook account, the state entity referred to the death of the 22-year-old actor and shared unpublished details about his death. In the letter, the Prosecutor’s Office explained that the actor had shot himself in the head after losing control during a chase on the Chamapa-Lechería highway.
“The Public Ministry conducted interviews with the two subjects who were traveling with Octavio N, in particular who was in the passenger seat said that they had been consuming intoxicating drinks and when they were driving through the streets of Cuautitlán Izcalli, the municipal police stopped them, however Octavio N accelerated the truck to avoid being stopped. This caused a persecution that extended to the Chamapa-Lechería highway,” the letter began.
“The mechanics report of the facts refers that during his flight the driver lost control, left the asphalt tape and hit his right front part; and this moment and as a result of the dynamics of this mishap, the driver presumably triggered the firearm that he carried in his right hand”, added the Attorney General of the States of Mexico in its statement.
The events occurred last Friday in Cuautitlán Izcalli, when a police truck asked the actor to stop his vehicle and a police chase was unleashed that ended with the actor’s truck, who was traveling with two other companions, crashed into a wall.
As you remember, Octavio Ocaña made his debut at the age of five playing the character of ‘Benito’ in the fiction “Neighbors”, an 11 season series produced by Eugenio Derbez and Elías Solorio.
