Samsung has finally kicked off the testing phase of the next major update to One UI. One UI 5 Beta began shipping today (5) and for now is available exclusively to Galaxy S22 owners in the following countries: Germany, China, South Korea, United States, India, Poland and United Kingdom.
Despite the novelty, Samsung has not yet detailed everything new that will be present in the update and, of course, as it is still in the testing phase, it is likely that some things will change between this period and the arrival of the final version. It is also worth noting that information about news should appear in the coming days as more people have access to the One UI 5 Beta.
Meanwhile, the main source of news is a large leak that took place in July and that anticipated a lot that should paint in the final version, which is scheduled to be released in October 2022. The main news according to rumors would be security and privacy reinforcement , with options centered on a single panel, OCR (Samsung’s kind of Google Lens), more Bixby and new gestures for multitasking.
When will One UI 5 be released?
As there is still no official schedule released by Samsung, it remains only to speculate. As usual, it should reach the brand’s most powerful models first, as should also happen with access to the beta version of the platform.
