The PS5 and Xbox Series X / S launches could go down as one of the most chaotic launches in history. Even so, both PlayStation and Xbox have had the biggest launches in their history.

The fact that not enough consoles are being produced is only part of the problem. The scarcity of next-gen consoles is also fueled by scammers and scalpers.

Bot company

Larger companies that specialize in this profitable business use automated bots to not only skip queues, but also complete multiple transactions in a matter of seconds. A human being could never achieve this.

In December it became known that some British politicians were looking for ways to bring the discussions to the House of Commons to ban the activities of bot companies. Now British politicians are reiterating their hope of banning bots. Scottish National Party MP Douglas Chapman spoke to BBC Radio 4 about the issue.

“It’s just so unfair for the average customer who just wants to play their game or give their child a Christmas present. This situation is just going to get worse and worse, ”said Chapman.

Possible end for the bot company

Chapman also stated that he will bring the motion to Parliament to raise awareness of the problem and hopefully put an end to the bot companies’ greedy machinations before they become a bigger problem over time. The problem could even escalate beyond retail luxury items.

If you think it might not be possible to ban the bots in the UK, the host of the BBC Radio 4 show pointed out the fact that bots in the UK have already been banned from buying tickets to concerts. So there is still hope. If the law is successfully implemented in Great Britain, this could also be adapted in Germany and other countries.
