Hitman 3 is here, and in our review we are very impressed with the stealth adventure. Agent 47’s new killer trip is also well received in the rest of the world, and even minor technical difficulties cannot change that.
Hitman 3 (buy now € 59.99) is available for PC, Playstation 5 and Playstation 4, Xbox Series X and Xbox One and, thanks to the cloud solution, at the same time as the other versions, even for Nintendo Switch. It’s a great title everywhere, but where does the hit man do best?
The technology experts at Digital Foundry have gone on the trail of this question, and while the performance of the PC version naturally depends on your own computer, the Xbox Series X makes it onto the podium for consoles. We have known for a long time that it is theoretically the most powerful next-gen or current-gen console, so now this advantage has real effects.
You can only experience Hitman 3 in real 4K resolution on the Xbox Series X. On the PS5 you have to be content with a resolution of 1800p. On the last-gen consoles, the resolution is lowered even further, as is the case on the Xbox Series S. In principle, the developers have done a good job on both the Xbox Series X and PS5. Apart from the not dramatic difference in resolution, both versions are very similar, both run at a constant 60 frames per second and correspond to the highest settings of the PC version in terms of display options. PS4 Pro and Xbox Series S also show 60 FPS, with the other last-gen devices you have to be content with stable 30 frames per second.
