Emanuele Grimaldi, Finnlines chairman and chief executive officer, was elected chairman of the board of directors. He will be joined by Diego Pacella , elected vice president of the board. Grimaldi succeeds Jon-Aksel Torgersen, president of Finnlines’ board of directors for fifteen years. Torgersen will continue to be a member of the board.
Finnlines’ board of directors has appointed Tom Pippingsköld as the new president and CEO of Finnlines. Thomas Doepel , currently Chief Operating Officer, has been named Vice President and Deputy CEO . Tom Pippingsköld and Thomas Doepel have been members of Finnlines’ executive committee since 2013.
The Board of Directors has made the following appointments to the Executive Committee: Merja Kallio-Mannila , currently Deputy Director of Marketing, Sales and Customer Service; Marco Palmu, currently Head of Passenger Services; Mervi Pyökäri , currently Head of Legal; Torkel Saarnio , currently Line Manager Hansalink, Rostock and Aarhus traffics and Head of Truck and Trailer Segment. Tom Pippingsköld, Thomas Doepel, Staffan Herlin, Head of Group Marketing, Sales and Customer Service, and Antonio Raimo, Line Manager Nordölink and Finnlink, continue to be members of the Finnlines Executive Committee.
The members of the Finnlines board of directors are: Emanuele Grimaldi, Diego Pacella, Tiina Bäckman, Gianluca Grimaldi, Guido Grimaldi, Mikael Mäkinen, Esben Poulsson, Jon-Aksel Torgersen and Tapani Voionmaa. They will remain in office until the close of the 2023 Annual General Meeting.
Grimaldi, as president and CEO since 2013 – reads a note from the Finnish company – has transformed Finnlines into a successful and efficient maritime operator. Finnlines is now Finland’s leading shipping company and plays a pivotal role in Finnish exports and imports not to mention Finland’s emergency security of supply.
