São Paulo, Brazil – Kanye West, the rapper also known as Ye, might get arrested if he says or sings anything that supports Nazis at his show in Brazil next month. Officials there are watching closely after his past problems with hate speech.
The warning comes from Brazil’s public prosecutors in São Paulo. They say West could face quick arrest if he performs his song “Heil Hitler” or uses Nazi signs like swastikas during his concert on November 29, 2025. The same goes for the event bosses, Guilherme Cavalcante and Jean Fabrício Ramos, if they let it happen.
This all started with a complaint from city councilor Cris Monteiro. She wants to stop any spread of antisemitism at big events. Prosecutor Ana Beatriz Pereira de Souza Frontini backed her up. Frontini said freedom of speech has limits. “The right to free expression is not absolute,” she explained. She added that people must act with care at shows with huge crowds.
Police from a special unit in São Paulo will be at the concert to make sure rules are followed. Right now, the show has no place to happen. The city canceled the first spot at Autódromo de Interlagos because of setup issues and West’s history with Nazi-like talk. Organizers are looking for a new venue, but nothing is set yet.
São Paulo’s mayor, Ricardo Nunes, made it clear on November 10: No public spot in the city will host anyone pushing Nazi ideas. “We won’t let someone who promotes Nazism sing even one word here,” Nunes said. “We don’t accept that, and we’ll do whatever it takes to stop it.”
West has faced a lot of backlash before. Since 2022, he’s shared antisemitic posts online. That cost him deals with companies like Adidas and Balenciaga, plus his talent agency. In February 2025, his Yeezy site got kicked off Shopify for selling a T-shirt with a swastika and “HH-01” – a nod to Hitler. Then in May, he dropped the song “Heil Hitler,” full of references to the German leader.
But lately, West seems sorry. Early this month, he met Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto and talked about his regrets. He blamed his bipolar disorder for the bad choices. “I was dealing with many issues, including bipolar disorder, and that made me forget to protect the people around me,” West said.
West has more shows lined up, like one in South Africa on December 13, 2025, and another in Mexico on January 30, 2026. For now, Brazil’s team is on high alert to keep his São Paulo gig trouble-free – or shut it down if needed.
This story shows how stars like West must follow local laws on speech, even on stage. Fans are waiting to see if the concert goes ahead and stays peaceful.
