Singer Marilyn Manson was sentenced in New Hampshire to serve 20 hours of community service in California, stemming from a 2019 incident in which he blew his nose on a camerawoman during a concert
On September 18 Marilyn Manson was sentenced to serve 20 hours of community service in California and pay a fine, due to an incident at a concert he gave four years ago in New Hampshire.
The singer (whose real name is Brian Warner) was required by the judge to be present in court in Laconia to hear details about the two misdemeanor counts of simple assault he committed at the show that took place on August 19, 2019. He spit and blew his nose on camerawoman Susan Fountain, who called the act “the most disgusting thing a human being could have done.”
Manson chose not to contest the charges and thus not to admit guilt; the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the spitting charge. Now the artist (who was only heard saying his name and the word “yes”) must pay a $1,400 fine and perform community service, which could be working with people in addiction recovery. In addition, for the next two years he will have to notify the police about any shows he is going to perform there.
