The particular reason why Beyoncé asked her fans to wear silver clothes in her upcoming shows in the U.S.
Several stores have reported a huge increase in silver clothing and it’s all thanks to the Renassaince Tour.
Beyoncé’s U.S. tour is proving to be a huge success, with all dates sold out and plenty of moments that reiterate the artist’s place as one of the most influential artists in the world. In fact, a new request for her fans has had them going crazy looking for silver-colored apparel.
Why the shopping frenzy? Through her social networks, Beyoncé shared that the Virgo season had arrived (according to the zodiacal horoscope), and having been born on September 4, 1981, the singer-songwriter wants to celebrate her birthday in style and with her fans. For that reason, she has asked that in the upcoming concerts that run from August 24 to September 23, all fans wear silver clothing.
“Virgo season has arrived. This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you by wearing your most fabulous silver finery at shows from August 23 to September 22,” Beyoncé wrote in a story on her official Instagram account. “Each night we will be surrounded by a glowing human disco ball, all reflecting each other’s joy, Virgo season together in the house of chrome.”
Following this message, Queen B’s fans have started buying all the silver-colored outfits in front. The announcement has also generated a lot of stress in fans, as some share on networks that they already had a dazzling outfit ready for the concert that would be experienced in their respective cities just a day or two after the announcement, and now, they will have to change all plans.
“Beyoncé has me freaking out because the concert is tomorrow and the outfit I bought is not silver. I don’t know if I can change it with that kind of notice. “Beyoncé has me stressed out because she wants everyone to wear silver to her concert and now I need to find a whole new outfit in 6 days because I can’t let her down,” “Beyoncé is so wrong to make me wear silver to this concert knowing that I only like gold,” are some of the comments X (formerly Twitter) users have shared for the unexpected notice.
And although for many it might seem silly, fans are taking this request very seriously, to such a degree that several stores have reported a huge increase in their silver clothing.
Platforms like Etsy reported to TMZ that shopping brands like Sequin Fans saw a 200% increase in silver apparel sales and a 400% increase in overall traffic. Radiancy Designs, meanwhile, had four times the flow it is used to, plus 80% of that flow came from people whose recent searches were related to Beyoncé’s Reinassance Tour.
Perhaps fans have felt compelled to grant Beyoncé’s birthday wish because the singer has also had several heartwarming gestures for her fans. Case in point was in early August, when a thunderstorm caused the Texas singer-songwriter to delay her concert at FedEx Field in Washington, D.C. This became a problem because the city’s metro would close at midnight, and many of the thousands of concertgoers would be left without transportation home.
So Beyoncé decided to pay the city $100,000 to run the subway for an extra hour, something that to this day, the fans who gathered at the home of the Washington Commanders are grateful for.
