General Mills has announced a voluntary recall of various sizes of bags of Gold Medal bleached and unbleached flour due to possible salmonella contamination, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The nationwide recall affects two-, five- and 10-pound bags of Gold Medal bleached and unbleached all-purpose flour with an expiration date of March 27, 2024 and March 28, 2024.

The presence of Salmonella Infantis was detected in a sample from a five-pound bag, prompting the recall.

All other types of Gold Medal flour are not affected by the recall.

Consumers are urged to check their pantries and dispose of any recalled flour that has been purchased. Those who had to throw away flour can contact General Mills customer service at 1-800-230-8103.
