Nearly two months after a fatal drive-by shooting outside a Pompano Beach convenience store, Broward police announced the arrest of one of the gunmen believed to be responsible.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony announced that Damian Charmant, an 18-year-old who was 17 at the time of the shooting, had been arrested. Tony said detective work and information from the public led to his identification.
Charming, who was previously in custody on unrelated charges, now faces two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, Tony said.
The sheriff explained that that day there were dozens of shots fired from assault rifles and pistols.
Broward homicide detectives said the fugitive suspects linked to the shooting were considered armed and dangerous.
