MARION COUNTY. Florida. – The third suspect in the murder of three teenagers in the Forest Lakes Park area was arrested over the weekend. The arrest of the young man just over a week after the murders.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said the teen was charged with carjacking with a firearm, aggravated assault, grand theft of a motor vehicle, flight or attempted escape to a law enforcement officer and tampering with an electronic monitoring device.
However, no charges have yet been brought against him for the youths’ death on March 30 as he is under investigation.
The other two suspects, aged 12 and 17, were arrested last Friday after they had found the masters’ whereabouts through tips and collected evidence. The third person was on the run, and local authorities have decided to offer a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information leading to his whereabouts.
Three bodies and three murder suspects
Layla Silvernail, 16, and two other victims, aged 16 and 17, were murdered on March 30 and 31.
The bodies of Layla and another young man were found abandoned on separate roads in Marion County. While the third victim was found in Layla’s car, which was submerged in a pool of water.
Following the investigation, authorities first arrested two potential suspects. All suspects are minors.
