MARION COUNTY, Florida. – The car photo of one of the teenagers killed at Forest Lakes Park in Marion County was released by Sheriff Billy Woods.
The image of the white 2015 Chevy Cruze car was released by the county sheriff because the vehicle, which belonged to Layla Silvernal, was in the Forest Lake Park area the night of her March 30 murder at 10:00 a.m. : 40:00 a.m., but was later also seen on the Malauka Loop Trace on April 1 at 1:00 p.m.
“We want to know if you saw this vehicle around this time,” Woods said.
Layla Silvernail, 16, was found alive but with gunshot wounds and lying on the side of SE 183 Avenue Road.
After a confidence, the local authorities managed to find the car which was immersed in a body of water.
Obtaining a search warrant to gather evidence, officers found another 16-year-old girl dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
The third victim, a 17-year-old boy, had also been shot and his body left near SE 94th Street and SE 188th Street.
According to the county sheriff, the victims of the triple homicide knew each other and suspected the deaths could be gang-related.
Woods said that at this time, no suspects have been officially identified, but several people of interest are being interviewed.
