Officials in Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ administration have revoked Miami’s Hyatt Regency liquor license after one of its facilities allegedly held a Christmas-themed drag show.

Opponents of this type of drag show have called the event “a sexually explicit performance marketed to children”.

The 17-page lawsuit was filed Tuesday by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation against the venue where the show took place, exactly, the James L. Knight Center.

Although the show required anyone under the age of 18 to be accompanied by an adult to attend, the venue is now charged with several violations, including a ban on “lewd presentation” for those under 16.

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation said the performers “wore sexually suggestive clothing and female genital prostheses” in addition to simulating sex acts.
