I remember the official announcement of Final Fantasy XVI enthusiastically for various reasons. A plot pointing to palace intrigue, explicit blood and execution, sex, Devil May Cry-style combat…Square Enix was finally ready to take its most famous saga to a new level. However, its presentation trailer also included a detail that continues to raise doubts today. And the PC version?
Those responsible for this video game took several months to speak openly about this problem, and when that time came, they only pointed out that Final Fantasy XVI will be exclusive to PS5 for six months. Reading this sentence, a large part of fans believed that when this period expires (late 2023/early 2024), the computer edition would finally be released. However they were wrong.
Final Fantasy XVI will take a while to release on PC
- In the last entry of PlayStation Blog The Japanese, Naoki Yoshida (producer of the game) enlightens us a little more on the question of porting to PC
- “I’ll be clear, the PC version won’t be released for six months”said Yoshi-P
- Therefore, the option of Final Fantasy XVI reaching Steam or similar stores in early 2024 is ruled out, moreover, we will have to wait several more months
- “I’d like to release it (the PC edition) eventually, and I think I will, but right now I’m not in a good time to say when”
A game that will squeeze the new generation of consoles
This afternoon they were published the first impressions of the media after testing a playable demo of Final Fantasy XVI, and practically confirms what we already suspected. The new installment in the Square Enix saga is set to be one of the great works of 2023, a title destined to lead the next generation of consoles thanks to its frenetic combat system and overwhelming graphics. Are you excited, huh?
