NEW YORK – Two men entered a jewelry store in Queens mid-afternoon, hit a woman in the head with a gun and kicked her, then robbed $500,000 worth of merchandise before fleeing, authorities said.
It was not immediately clear how seriously injured the woman was in the 2:30 p.m. incident at the 39th Avenue store on Wednesday.
Police say the suspects entered the store, smashed the displays and put their ill-gotten gains in a brown box from Amazon. They were last seen running north on Prince Street, authorities said.
The NYPD released a short surveillance video from the clip showing the two men firing weapons at various locations and beginning to vandalize the store.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
