Moscow.- A military plane crashed into a residential building in the southern Russian city of Yeisk on Monday, Russian news agencies reported, citing eyewitnesses.
Unconfirmed images on social media showed a large fireball shooting out of what appeared to be a multi-story building.
The TASS agency detailed that there was a fire from the first floor to the ninth of the building. Ambulances and fire vehicles arrived at the scene, the report added.
The Russian Ministry of Defense detailed that it was a Su-34 bomber that fell down during a takeoff for a training flight.
He added that the crew members ejected safely, but the plane crashed in a residential area and the fuel caused an explosion on impact.
Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said emergency services were working to put out the fire, which affected some 15 apartments. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
