The New York real estate market has recently received a property that stands out among others for having belonged to the late actress Joan Fontaine.

The property is for sale priced at $7.95 million, a price that is well below the $8.67 million that its current owners paid for the place in 2013.

In 2013, the Oscar-winning actress also died. Although her property in New York belonged to her until her death, her last years of life were spent in a house in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.

This apartment is located in a building built in 1928 where there are only 20 exclusive apartments. Not only did the great actress live in this building, but Jackie Kennedy’s sister, Lee Radziwill, also passed through its corridors and apartments.

There is no information on how many square feet the apartment for sale is, but it is known that it has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, hall, living room, library, dining room, kitchen, butler’s pantry, laundry room and other amenities.

Inside, several details stand out such as parquet floors, 30-foot ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces, built-in bookshelves, wood-paneled bookcase, arched windows and many more details.

Another great feature of the property is that despite being in an old building, it maintains its contemporary style and is in perfect condition. The kitchen is quite spacious with white cabinets, granite counter tops and high end stainless steel appliances.

All the large windows of the property also allow the place to be illuminated with natural light and also give a privileged view of Manhattan.

After paying the $7.95 million dollars requested for the property, the new owners will also have to pay a monthly maintenance fee of $11,200.
