Wout Van Aert already has his future defined for the coming seasons. Pthat to the interest of other great teams of the peloton such as Ineos-Grenadiers the Belgian cyclist has renewed for the next three seasons with the Jumbo-Visma, where they have become one of the pillars of the team and where they will continue to help and seek triumphs at least until 2024.
In statements collected by the Dutch team, which announced the renewal of Van Aert with a nice video showing the versatility of the runner, Van Aert was very happy for his continuity. “Even after 2021 he will be a proud member of the Jumbo-Visma. I wanted to extend my relationship because here I have become a better cyclist. I think everyone has seen the great steps that I have taken as a cyclist in these years. I’ve always been in shape when I needed it. ”
Van Aert also believes that the renewal is the best decision he has been able to make and denied that he had spoken with another team, since his intention was to renew. “I owe a lot to the team for allowing me to work towards my goals. The decision to renew appeared very quickly in my head. Of course there are other things that come into play that take time. The intention was good on their part and he was confident that everything would work out. I am very happy to be able to pursue more successes in this very family environment. I feel good here and in recent years I have shown it. Needless to say, there were more teams interested in me but I have never spoken to another team. My goal was to extend my contract here. We have the best team in the world and the best thing for me was to stay. I’m proud that it was done and I’m relieved to be able to talk about it. “
