STUART, Fla. (AP) — The girlfriend of Tiger Woods wants to rescind an agreement that prevents him from revealing details of his six-year relationship with the professional golfer.

Attorneys for Erica Herman filed a lawsuit Monday seeking a ruling in Martin County, Florida, Circuit Court, according to online court records.

The couple had lived in the area, according to the complaint. Martin County is located just north of Palm Beach County.

Woods and Herman have not publicly announced the end of their relationship, which began in 2017. The woman regularly appeared with the golfer at prestigious tournaments, including the 2019 Masters, which Woods won to win 15 major titles.

That same year, the two appeared together in the Presidents Cup, when Woods captained his team in Australia.

On the other hand, Herman was not present at the Hero World Challenge that Woods organizes in the Bahamas, the first week of December. Nor did he appear three weeks later at the Genesis Invitational the star hosted in Riviera.

According to the complaint, a trust controlled by Woods is trying to silence Herman with an agreement that prevents him from disclosing information and which she signed while involved in a personal and professional relationship with the golfer.

The complaint argues that the agreement should be voided under federal law that prohibits honoring agreements of this nature when there is sexual assault or harassment.

Herman previously worked at Jupiter’s restaurant in Woods.

The complaint does not contain details of the information Herman would like to disclose. No specific charges are brought against Woods either.

The complaint says that due to the “aggressive use” of the nondisclosure agreement, Herman is unsure whether she can disclose “facts that would give rise to various legal claims that she believes she has.”

He adds that he doesn’t know what other information about his own life he can reveal and with whom.

Marl Steinberg, Woods’ agent at Excel Sports Management, did not immediately respond to a call and text message seeking comment from The Associated Press.
