With two goals, Nashville SC beat New York City FC at Nissan Stadium

For Week 1 of the USA – MLS 2023 tournament, Nashville SC celebrated at home by taking on NYCFC. The local goals were scored by Walker Zimmerman (34′ 1T) and Jacob Shaffelburg (34′ 2T).

An excellent game from Nashville SC, after 34 minutes in the second half, was the one to move the score through Jacob Shaffelburg. Hany Mukhtar sent in a cross, which the forward dominated and passed Luis Barraza.

Armando Villarreal was the referee who officiated the game at Nissan Stadium.

Nashville SC’s next game in the championship will be away against the New York Red Bulls, while NYCFC will visit the Chicago Fire.
