With just one goal, Universitario beat Melgar in Monumental de la U

On day 7 of the Peru – Liga 1 Betsson 2023 tournament, Universitario found themselves with the duel against Melgar and beat him 1-0. The visit made the only goal, which was against the game 10 minutes into the second half, by Alejandro Ramos, against.

José Carvallo gave a great performance. The Universitario goalkeeper was the protagonist against Melgar: he contained 4 shots.

Williams Riveros also stood out. The Universitario defender was important for rejecting 10 dangerous balls.

A high foul rate constantly interrupted the development of the game. The warnings were numerous: Alejandro Ramos, Luis Urruti, Paolo Reyna, José Carvallo, Alex Valera, Horacio Orzán, Nelson Cabanillas, Jhamir D’Arrigo and Alexis Arias.

Universitario DT Jorge Araujo presented a tactical 4-3-3 arrangement with José Carvallo in goal; Aldo Corzo, Marco Saravia, Williams Riveros and Nelson Cabanillas on the defensive line; Martín Pérez Guedes, Jorge Murrugarra and Piero Quispe in the middle; and Andy Polo, Alex Valera and Luis Urruti in attack.

Meanwhile, Pablo Lavallén’s side came out with a 4-3-3 tactical arrangement with Carlos Cáceda under the three sticks; Alejandro Ramos, Alec Deneumostier, Leonel Galeano and Paolo Reyna in defence; Alexis Arias, Horacio Orzán and Walter Tandazo in midfield; and Cristian Bordacahar, Pablo Magnín and Luis Iberico in front.

Diego Haro Sueldo was in charge of overseeing the order of play during the game.

The following day, the University will face Deportivo Binacional as visitors, while Melgar will play as visitors against César Vallejo.
