PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jayson Tatum hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1.3 seconds left, Joel Embiid missed his desperate shot in time to tie, and the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 110-107 on Saturday. .

Tatum finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Jaylen Brown scored 26 points and Derrick White finished with 18 for the Celtics.

Embiid had 41 points and 12 rebounds. James Harden had 21 points and Tobias Harris finished with 19.

With suspense until the very end, the game lived up to expectations of a duel between two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.

Boston, however, proved to be the team to beat.

The Sixers trailed by three points with three minutes left. Spurred on by a chant calling for his MVP award, Embiid made two free throws and a jumper to cut the deficit to one.

With the game tied, Tatum hit the 3-pointer that gave Boston the lead. Embiid then tried his long shot, successful but delayed by a fraction of a second.

Al Horford hit five 3-pointers for a 15-pointer for the Celtics.
