“We observed that higher urinary excretion of polyphenols is linearly associated with a higher cardiovascular health index in children and adolescents of 11 to 14 years old of age. In this sense, the American Heart Association suggests the consumption of at least five vegetables and four fruits a day.

“Our study showed that, over more than 20 years of follow-up, nut consumers, compared to non-consumers, had healthier diets that included more fruits, vegetables, and less processed meat, added sugar and saturated fats.” , detailed Lyn Steffenone of the authors of the research.
