The president revealed the contents of a letter sent to Daniel Ortega

Despite the fact that it was not planned to speak publicly in this regard, the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) revealed the contents of a letter he sent to Daniel Ortega on December 1, 2022.

According to what was expressed by the President, the document was sent with the intention of requesting the release of Dora Maria Telleza political prisoner in Nicaragua, however, has not received a response to her request.

In accordance with the provisions of the Tabasco letter, “no public expression” would be issued in this regard and, if necessary, it would be done as established by Nicaragua.

“It is not our intention to make a public statement on the matter in question and, if so, any communication in this regard would be made as determined by the Nicaraguan government. Without anyone else, please accept the assurances of my highest consideration,” the document read.

However, after almost three months, this February 22, the president read the letter during his morning conference. This after being questioned about his position regarding exile in UNITED STATES and recently stripped Nicaraguan citizens of their nationality.

“Now we let it be known, and he has informed you that there have been people from Nicaragua who have requested to be in Mexico, the Secretary of Foreign Relations (SRE) informed me, the instruction is that all those who want to be in our country are welcome.”
