Asuncion, 20 Feb. The Director of Child Nutrition and Development of the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef), Víctor Aguayo, began a visit to Paraguay on Monday, where he will meet with authorities and visit communities in Asunción and the Chaco region, reported the international organization.

Aguayo will meet with officials from the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, members of scientific and academic societies, as well as diplomatic delegates in the country.

“His visit will serve above all to exchange experiences, with the aim of strengthening actions aimed at preventing all forms of malnutrition and continuing to promote the rights of all children,” UNICEF said in a statement.

In Asunción, the country’s capital, the official agenda includes the official’s visit to the Cateura region, to Bañado Sur, one of the communities located on the banks of the Paraguay River.
