The publication is given within the framework of the congregation for the defense of the INE

As part of the Congregation for the Defense of National Electoral Institute (INE), former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox Quesada, has shared a unique version of Shakira and Bizarrap’s famous song.

The material was highlighted by another member of the National Action Party (PAN), who called for the version in which the verse “You don’t touch my vote” to be sung in chorus during the demonstration which will take place this February 26 on the esplanade of the Basement Since Mexico City.

“It’s good, a version of Shakira’s song in Chihuahua to defend the INE. To sing the choir tomorrow”, he wrote on February 25 on his Twitter account with the video and a fragment of the version.

It should be noted that this Sunday, various collectives called on the population to come together to defend the Mexican organization responsible for “strengthening democracy and guaranteeing the exercise of political rights”, that is to say the National Electoral Institute (INE).

This under the argument that with the recent approval of the series of modifications to secondary electoral laws, democracy in Mexico will be violated.

In this regard, not only INE members have positioned themselves against the reform package, but also the parties that oppose the current federal government led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).

In fact, various members of the PAN and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) were among the main critics of Plan B.

For example, the head of PAN, Marko Cortes Mendoza, called the Plan B Since electoral reform of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) as an “overbearing whim,” which he warned, blue-and-white lawmakers won’t approve reforms to the laws on the matter.

It should be added that in addition to members of political parties, figures such as the businessman Claudio X. González and civil organizations.

Similarly, the American newspaper, The New York Times pointed out that, by Electoral Plan B of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, The operational capacity of the INE will be restricted, as its staff will be reduced, its autonomy will also be reduced and its ability to sanction candidates who violate electoral laws will be limited.

Moreover, according to the analysis of journalist Natalie Kitroeff, this series of measures adopted “weakens the fragile independent institutions”, and is part of a pattern of questioning of democratic standards throughout the Western hemisphere.

For this reason, the February 26 march (initially promoted by the businessman Claudio X González) will seek show the disagreement of the citizens before the recent vote in the plenary session of the Senate.

The march will take place in Mexico City (CDMX), however, the filmmakers pointed out that at least other 82 cities in the country and abroad will also participate in the call.

In it, the presence of leaders such as Alejandro Moreno, Jesus Zambrano, Marko Cortés, among others.

It should be noted that within the INE defense congregation, various Genaro García Luna covers and posters —former Mexican official recently tried in the United States— on a background with the logo of the National Action Party (PAN).

At the bottom of the mega banner was the caption #GarcíaLunaNoSeToca on a pink background – a color representative of the protest taking place today against Plan B – for what has been flagged as a possible affront to those participating in today’s march.

It should be noted that said canvas covered four floors of the government building, but after half an hour, INE defenders proceeded to remove it.
