The Official United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) is developing this Saturday the National Register of Feminist Councils, an activity that will continue until the end of the weekend, and whose purpose is to give prominence and voice women in decision-making. , informed the political formation.
The formal formation of these councils is the responsibility of the Department for Women and Gender Equality, as the governing body of care policies for this sector in the country, the source explained.
With the formalization of these entities, it aims to “guarantee the territorialization of policies for the protection of women”.
The “national godmother” of the councils, Sujey Albornoz, highlighted, from the state of Amazonas (south), the massive influx of women to register to be part of this initiative and thanked “the commitment and the dedication” to the “welfare” of females
“We are satisfied because the people of the Amazon have responded to the call to join the massive register of Feminist Councils (…) we commend the State for its commitment and dedication to the well-being of our women”, a- he declared.
According to images provided by the state channel Venezolana de Televisión, in Caracas hundreds of women attended the meeting with the Feminist Councils, with the aim of “supporting the role of women in decisions related to the development of the country”. . said one of the members, whose name was not provided.
She explained that these entities “are formed from the organizational logic to guarantee the participation of women in entrepreneurship and training spaces” and in order to “actively assume, in a responsible way, the construction of the homeland”.
