On the 3rd date of the Brazil – Carioca Championship 2023 tournament, Vasco found himself this Thursday with the victory against Botafogo. The local goals were scored by Alex Teixeira (10′ 2T) and Pedro Raúl (27′ 2T).

Lucas Perri was the figure of the game. The Botafogo keeper was fundamental in saving 10 shots.

Another important player in the match was Nenê. Vasco da Gama’s midfielder shot on goal 3 times.

The duel was quite contested, with many faults on both sides, which caused the match to be constantly stopped. Adryelson was sent off for a direct red card (11′, 1T) and Rafael for a direct red card (58′, 1T).

Vasco technical director Maurício Nogueira Barbieri proposed a 4-3-3 strategy with Hedhe Halls in goal; José Luis Rodríguez, Miranda, Léo and Lucas Pitón on the defensive line; Rodrigo Alves, Cauan Barros and Matías Galarza in the middle; and Alex Teixeira, Pedro Raúl and Gabriel Pec in attack.

For their part, those led by Luís Ribeiro de Castro stopped with a 4-3-3 scheme with Lucas Perri under the three sticks; Rafael, Adryelson, Víctor Cuesta and Hugo in defence; Tchê Tchê, Marlon Freitas and Gabriel Pires in midfield; and Lucas Piazón, Tiquinho Soares and Victor Sá in front.
