Vargas Lleras presented his health reform proposal: these are the main points

Radical change joined the list of parties that submitted a against health reformof the document tabled before Congress a few days ago by the President, Gustavo Petro, and the Ministry of Health, Carolina Corcho.

On his Twitter account, he explained the reason: “Because we believe that better health is possible, with the bench of the Radical Change Party, we are presenting a bill for health reform. Initiative consisting of 42 articles”.

In 36 pages, the document covers various topics, such as the EPS survivalthe general health system, public health, funding, human talent and anti-evasion measures, etc.

Their main axes They are: “1) Strengthening of primary care, we need more basic services at the first level. 2) Consolidation of a preventive system, we propose the establishment of a family doctor with problem-solving capacity,” read a Twitter thread posted by the former vice president.

In this regard, the document specifies: “Everyone will be attached to a primary care provider and a highly decisive family and community doctor, of their free choice, located near the place of residence or work, in accordance with the regulations that the Ministry of Health and Welfare issued”.

The counter-reform of Cambio Radical, in addition to a system focused on preventionplans to create Ten-year health plan, with contributions from all stakeholders. And it establishes that the Health Promotion Entities (EPS) will be maintained, even if their operation is limited to certain territories.
