This Friday, according to National Meteorological Service (SMN), the city of Buenos Aires and its surroundings remain under red alert, with extreme and potentially dangerous temperatures for health. For today’s session, the SMN anticipates a minimum of 27° and a maximum of 37°with partly cloudy skies and no chance of precipitation.

For its part, the long-term forecast indicates that the absence of rain will continue over the weekend and that high temperatures will continue: for tomorrow, an overcast sky is expected, with a minimum of 23°C and a maximum of 37°, which goes hand in hand with winds between 42 and 50 kilometers per hour from the northeast at night, while for Sunday the weather will remain in the same trend, although with temperatures between 26 and 36 degrees.

Faced with this type of climatic phenomena, the Ministry of Health of the Nation recommends a series of treatments so that people do not suffer so much from high temperatures. Among them are:

– Increase water intake without waiting to feel thirsty to maintain adequate hydration.

– Do not expose yourself to the sun in excess, nor at the central hours of the day (between 10 am and 4 pm)

– Pay attention to babies, children and the elderly.

– Avoid drinks containing caffeine, alcohol or very sweet.

– Avoid large meals.

– Eat vegetables and fruits.

– Reduce physical activity.

– Wear light, loose and light-coloured clothing; hat, dark glasses.

– Stay in ventilated or air-conditioned spaces.

– Remember that there is no pharmacological treatment for heat stroke and that only the classic methods, mentioned above, can prevent and counteract it.
