The UN Security Council will meet urgently this Friday (4) in response to the Russian attack on the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia.
The meeting will take place at 11:30 am New York time , the United Nations reported.
According to diplomatic sources, the appointment was requested by the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Norway and Albania .
Last night there was a Russian attack against this plant and the fire in one of its buildings, which was put out by firefighters this Friday at 6:20 in the morning, after a few hours of uncertainty.
The Zaporizhia nuclear power plant , which was later taken over by the Russian Army, is the largest in Europe and one of the largest in the world.
The director general of the UN nuclear agency , the Argentine Rafael Grossi , criticized today that security has been compromised by a Russian attack, but added that there were no radioactive leaks.
