The document, seen by the press agency ECEprimarily includes language that has already appeared in previous resolutions approved by this body since the beginning of the war and does not refer to the formula of peace raised by the Ukrainian President, contrary to the initial intentions of Kyiv.

According to diplomatic sources, its inclusion in the resolution could reduce favorable votes in the General Assembly and, therefore, it was decided to omit it.

There European Union, which has backed Ukraine in consulting on the text with the rest of the countries, hopes the proposal that has been put on the table will gain “very broad support” among the 193 UN member states.

Regarding accountability, the text indicates that it is necessary to require responsibility for crimes more serious through fair and independent investigations and prosecutions at the national and international levels.

Caricom members are Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahamas, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint -Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.
