“I wanted to meet some of the survivors, Ike and Arek, in person to hear their stories about how they started their own companies, wrote a book and, to this day, continue to participate in a round of golf.
“It was so powerful to hear how the time they spent on the lakes enjoying outdoor recreation, sport and art therapy enabled them to begin to rebuild their lives and ultimately their families here in the UK. This is not the first time duchess of cambridge lives with Holocaust survivors, remember that in 2020, as part of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, he invited Steven Frank already Yvonne Bernstein to Kensignton Palace, where in addition to talking with them, he photographed them with his grandchildren.
These photographs have been shown since August of this year in the exhibition Generations: Portraits of Holocaust Survivors at Imperial War Museum From london.
