The UK government will allow pubs, nightclubs and bars across the country to open for an extra two hours during King Carlos III’s coronation weekend to celebrate such a “momentous event” in a special way.

Hotel establishments in England and Wales will be able to continue to serve their customers from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. the weekend of Friday 5th to Sunday 7th May so that the British can “enjoy another pint or two”according to a Home Office statement collected by ‘Evening Standard’.

Interior Minister Suella Braverman took the step after 77% of participants in a popular consultation backed extending hotel opening hours during the coronation of King Carlos III.

“The coronation of His Majesty the King will be a memorable event What deserves a special celebration. That is why I will be extending licensing hours during this historic coronation weekend,” Braverman announced.

“Across the country, people can enjoy an extra pint or two in the evening, while families and friends can gather to wish His Majesty the King a long and happy reign.”

The hospitality industry enthusiastically welcomed the announcement, saying that, “in the midst of difficult times”, the bars will celebrate “this happy occasion”.

“The announcement of the extended opening hours will help us all celebrate this important event,” British Beer and Pub Association director Emma McClarkin told the aforementioned newspaper.

As detailed by the official residence of the 74-year-old British monarch, on Saturday May 6, events will begin with the “king’s procession”in which carlos with the queen consort, Camillethey will reach the Westminster Abbeyin the center of the British capital.

here the Archbishop of Canterbury will officiate a solemn religious service during which the sovereign will receive the crown and symbols of his reign as successor to his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

At the end of this first part, Carlos and Camila will return to the Buckingham Palace in the famous “coronation procession” and they will greet the citizens gathered in the streets from the balcony of their London residence. They will be accompanied by other members of the royal family although, for the moment, it has not been specified who will be with them at this stage of the festivities.

The next day the windsor castle -another of the royal residences- will be the scene of a concert with “world music icons and contemporary stars”. This mega show will be broadcast live on the public television channel BBC.

They have already confirmed their presence, among other artists, the Coronation Choirwhich is made up of a selection of singers from various UK bands such as bands involving refugees, health care workers and members of the LGBTQ+ community, the Palace said.

In parallel, the party will move to other highlights of the country which will be illuminated by lasers and projection.

On the same day, people in the UK are expected to organize other celebratory events in streets, gardens and parks.

Finally, Buckingham Palace declared the monday may 8 national day to commemorate the occasion and recognize the excellent work that the volunteers have done over the past 48 hours.
