Two foreign tourists, with German and Swiss nationalities, died in Kenya after the vehicle they were traveling in veered off the road and overturned in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, it was announced on Sunday the police.
The accident happened after the car got stuck in mud and left the road on Saturday, police said.
Another tourist was injured and two others, of German and Swiss nationality, escaped unscathed. They were on a group ride, although it was not immediately clear who was driving the vehicle.
The injured tourist was evacuated to a hospital in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, said Stephen ole Mining, head of the Maasai Mara guards.
The incident was under investigation, police spokeswoman Resila Onyango said.
The Maasai Nature Reserve is a popular tourist destination, where every year you can see the wildebeest migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania.
The effects of climate change are being felt in the vast nature reserve, where there is little vegetation due to five consecutive poor rainy seasons and two years with less rainfall than usual.
