Members of the Investigative Police of the Tamaulipas State Attorney General’s Office ensured 85 packages containing fentanyl in Matamoros, Tamaulipas.

It was at a courier and parcel company in the border town, where authorities seized narcotics.

According to the authorities, the packages containing the drug were sent by courier from Monterrey, Nuevo León.

The authorities were, however, alerted by an anonymous call which stated that four boxes they were to receive contained illicit substances.

Subsequently, investigators appeared in the Lucero neighborhood, where after an examination they located 35 colored fentanyl packages, 50 fentanyl blue packages, 10 medium glass bags of approximately half a kilogram, and 10 large plastic bags of approximately one kilogram.

The insured objects were transferred to the offices of the Attorney General of the Republic, where they were made available to the agent of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Organized crime groups have been known to use a variety of methods to transport drugs for subsequent illicit distribution. Thus, in a singular review, agents of the National Guard (GN) detected that in several personal hygiene bottles the narcotic known as LSD.

It was at a courier and parcel company located in Querétaroin the settler municipality, where the authorities made the atypical finding. And it is that while some packages were randomly checked to avoid the transport and shipment of illicit substances, the canine couples suddenly changed their behavior when they sniffed a particular package.

Given the behavior of the canine specimens, the suspect boxes were inspected. Upon opening them, the National Guard agents realized that they were black bottles with shampoo labels. However, despite apparently being personal care products, a thorough examination was carried out and it was determined that it was in fact an amber oil with the characteristics of a hallucinogenic drug.

Thus, the narcotic was secured by the corresponding authorities, who confirmed that the illicit substance complied with the characteristics of the LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) in liquid formwhich acts on the brain and can alter the mood of people who consume it.

According to National Guard reports, the insured package came from a home in Morelia, Michoacán, and had as Final destination California, United States. Although the amount of drugs intercepted was not detailed, in footage shared by authorities you can see at least seven boxes containing the alleged narcotic.

Although drug seizure stands out among the activities carried out by the National Guard in Mexican territory, it is generally not very common for its agents to intercept LSD, as is the case with the marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanylsubstances that are generally no longer seized by the authorities.

From February 9 to 17, members of the National Guard secured 175 packets of marijuana in 10 courier companies distributed in the same number of entities across the country, such as Nuevo León (55), Jalisco (29), Coahuila (21), Zacatecas (19) and Hidalgo (15), as well as in Baja California, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Sinaloa and Veracruz, where 36 packages of said narcotic were intercepted.

Among the most unusual seizures, the discovery of half a dozen glass enclosures hidden inside the CPU of a desktop computer. These actions were carried out in a courier company located in Culiacán, Sinaloa, on February 22 with the support of canine couples.

A few days later, the National Guard raided a package in Tijuana, Baja California, where several crystal packaging they were hidden in a plush in the shape of a monkeywho had been sent from Jalisco.

Similarly, the insurance of various glass packaging hidden in mirror frames. As in the previous cases, this discovery was registered in a courier and parcel company, located in Culiacán, Sinaloa. Authorities said the shipment was destined for an address in La Paz, Baja California Sur.
