Madrid, March 7. The poster for the 2023 Women’s World Cup which will take place in Australia and New Zealand, presented this Tuesday in Adelaide and Wellington, symbolizes the motto of the tournament which will be played between July 20 and August 20: “Greatness without boundaries”.

FIFA wanted to coincide this presentation, as well as that of the nine site-specific posters of the biggest competition in women’s football, with the eve of the celebration of International Women’s Day.

The main element of the poster is made up of three silhouettes of women who “symbolize the creation of positive change in women’s sport”. In the center stands the champions trophy which “directs attention to the sporting excellence achieved in the constant effort to improve the discipline”.

Likewise, the ball that serves as the background of the image represents “the union of the host countries and the whole world” and the silhouettes of the players, who appear in the foreground, “embodie the athletic qualities, the technique and the passion displayed inside the playing field, as well as the joy of the celebrations”.

The posters for the nine host cities were produced in collaboration with the venues themselves to form “a seamless collection, showcasing iconic and historic places, flora and fauna, and vibrant cultures unique to each”.

“With just 135 days to go until the tournament begins, we come to another key moment to celebrate. These posters show the distinctive identities of our nine venues in Australia and Aotearoa in New Zealand and also promote unity – the theme of the tournament. – around football,” said FIFA General Secretary Fatma Samoura.

The works are on display in Adelaide’s Festival Square until Wednesday March 22 and on Kumutoto Waterfront in Wellington until Tuesday March 21, both of which will serve as the setting for the fan zones. EFE
