The president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, announced this Sunday that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauricio Montalvo, will leave office and that this Monday, businessman Juan Carlos Holguín will take over as his replacement.

“The reinforcement in the team is intended to underpin the main goal of the government in its foreign policy: to promote trade agreements and open the economy to the world to continue the reactivation of foreign investment and employment,” the president wrote in his account of Twitter

Also on the social network, Montalvo thanked Lasso for the opportunity and his trust. “We work tirelessly to meet the goal of having more Ecuador in the world and more world in Ecuador,” he wrote.
