The Congress of Peru has decided to resume the debate for the advancement of the elections after several unsuccessful attempts in recent weeks.

With 69 votes in favor, the plenary session of the Peruvian Congress approved the expansion of the agenda so that the question of the advancement of the elections is again dealt with, so that the corresponding Commission must now debate a new project so that the elections can take place this year or the next beginning of the next.

However, the current legislature is coming to an end, so the initiative to reform the constitution and allow for a possible advance in elections must be discussed by the new members of Congress.
