The state of Guerrero began this weekend with a series of violent events which alerted the population: roadblocks until clashes armed groups among the alleged members of the Michoacán family and people in mountain communities. This left more than a dozen people in custody.

Initially, it was reported that around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday February 18, armed individuals clashed with residents of the communities of san antonio texas there Bajos of Balzamar, in the municipality of Técpan de Galeana. This confrontation is said to have stemmed from a few robberies recorded the day before.

According to local media, members of a criminal group they took some quads to peasants in the region on Friday the 17th, so that the next morning they organize themselves with other inhabitants to go in search of their stolen homes. During these actions, they encountered an armed group near the San Antonio cruise ship, which led to a shootout.

At first, it was reported that the armed subjects were suspected members of the Michoacan family, who broke into the municipality of Ajuchitlán del Progreso and ambushed peasants and locals. After this clash, an elderly person was injured due to gunshot wounds received, but no fatalities were recorded.

According to local reports, the injured person had injuries to part of his face and his right arm, although he was reported to be in stable condition. However, the disappearance of a young man who had not taken part in the armed confrontation was also reported. for these facts no arrests were recorded.

In other events, elements of the Municipal Police of Guerrero succeeded in arrest of more than a dozen people during actions to liberate the Mexico-Acapulco federal highway, blocked since Saturday afternoon, near the community of El Ocotito, in Chilpancingo.

It was reported that residents of the communities of Buena Vista de la Salud, El Ocotito and Tierra Colorada maintained a blockade on the aforementioned highway, supposedly to demand the release by a commander of a self-defense groupidentified as José David Barrientos, alias Le Deiby. It is presumed that this subject was a priority target for the authorities due to its alleged relationship with organized crime.

In this perspective, elements of the State Police, the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) and the National Guard have deployed a operational security in the municipalities of Buena Vista de la Salud and Tierra Colorada, in order to restore traffic on the corridor that connects the municipality of Ocotito. Among those arrested, eight were from the city of Buena Vista de la Salud and six from Tierra Colorada, including two women and a man who had an arrest warrant. Also, they reached seize 18 long gunsa short, a few frag grenades and an explosive device.
