BOSTON (AP) — Immanuel Quickley set a career-high 38 points, playing 55 minutes in place of injured starter Jalen Brunson, as the New York Knicks beat the Boston Celtics 131-129 in double overtime on Sunday night in a which was his ninth consecutive win, a season high.
Quickley had nine points in the second overtime and added eight rebounds and seven assists in the absence of Brunson, who sat out with sore left foot.
Julius Randle had 31 points and nine rebounds and RJ Barrett finished with 29 points and 11 rebounds for the Knicks, who held on after Al Horford hit a 3-pointer from the right corner just at the final buzzer.
Jayson Tatum led Boston with 40 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, Jaylen Brown had 29 points, and Horford finished with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Randle added 43 points in the victory at Miami on Friday, which included a lopsided shot, a 3-pointer, in the final seconds.
