The judge granted the amparo in favor of the wife of Emilio Lozoya

The judge of the fifth district of Amparo in criminal matters of Mexico City, Patricia Marcela Diez Cerda, ordered the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) to cancel the agreement which access denied to search folder against him for Marielle Helene Eckesmarry Emilio Lozoya Austin.

According to what was stated during the hearing, Eckes will now be able to know the details of the investigation against him for alleged tax evasion, in addition to the fact that the prosecution must recognize the appointment of defense lawyers, with whom the reserve imposed on the file should be cancelled.

“In accordance with the provisions of number 4 of the Convention because the requirement of legalization of foreign public documents is abolished, sIt is sufficient that the apostille be placed on the document itself or on an extension of it and not necessarily that it should be contained in this document itself, as it is supposed to be required,” the authority explained.
