Fishermen surprised how sharks devoured a crowd of fish around their small boat

A group of friends were fishing from a small boat off the coast of Venice, Louisiana when they witnessed a spectacular feeding frenzy of dozens of sharks around him.

The impressive scene was recorded on the camera of one of the fishermen and the footage quickly went viral on social media.

The fisherman Dillon-May told the agency Narrative that he and his friends were hoping to catch a tuna when the surface of the water began to stir. At first they thought it was a tuna boil, and in hopes of catching a few of these fish, they sailed straight into this scrum.

“Then we saw that were sharks on a bait packetWe have never seen anything like it before! said May. “There were no shrimp boats in sight either!” he warned.

The video shows that the sharks were so frantically hunting the bait ball -an agglomeration of small fish- which even hit the sides of the ship.

Witnesses to the event said that at one point more than a dozen sharks leaped onto the boat as the little fish tried to take refuge under it.

May said that the sharks ended up using the boat to their advantage by pressing their prey against it to eat.

Also, the predators splashed so much that the fishermen got soaked and the boat flooded.

The boat was about 24 kilometers off the coast of Venice, Louisiana (southeastern United States), when they saw the large flock of fish stirring the water as if it were boiling.

“When we arrived, the sharks had already found the pod and pushed it against the boat to feast on,” May recalls.
