This afternoon, various districts of Lima recorded rains of light to moderate intensity.

Given the increase in heavy rains due to the influence of Cyclone Yaku in Peru, Defense Minister Jorge Chávez announced that this Saturday, March 11, an emergency declaration will be issued from the regions of Tumbes to Lima.

“This emergency declaration consists of taking all budgetary measures in order to protect the city of Lima,” the official said after leaving the government palace, where he met President Dina Boluarte.

Likewise, the head of the Ministry of Defense indicated that, according to the scientific community, Cyclone Yaku, which descends from the north, increases the temperature of the waters, causing rains in the coastal area of ​​Lima and activating more than 30 streams located in Chosica, Chaclacayo and Santa Eulalia.
