The Minister of Transport, Guillaume Reyes, announced that on Tuesday, March 14, the future of the integration between Avianca and Viva Air will be known. The announcement was made on March 11, during a meeting of the program the government is listening in Soacha (Cundinamarca). Minister Reyes also warned that civil aeronautics would have an integration concept ready on March 14.
“On Wednesday the response time expired and from Thursday they started to study the equipment that the director of aeronautics has, we hope that by Tuesday the country will know if the integration of Viva – Avianca is finished or not,” announced Minister Reyes.
The Minister also sent a message of comfort to Viva users who were affected by the cancellation — without notice — of their operations on February 27: “We assure all passengers that there is another airline that guarantees their headquarters”, said Reyes, who assured that the other week it will be announced that all procedures and administrative formalities in transit and transport will be digitized to avoid corruption and irregularities in them.
