In the round of 16 of the 2022-2023 Europa League tournament, B. Leverkusen won at home with 2 goals against Ferencváros. The local goals were scored by Kerem Demirbay (9′ 1T) and Edmond Tapsoba (40′ 2T).

The stick saved both teams from shots by Adam Hlozek for Bayer Leverkusen and midfielder Bálint Vécsei for Ferencváros.

For their part, Stanislav Cherchesov’s team entered the field with a 4-5-1 pattern with Dénes Dibusz under the three sticks; Endre Botka, Mats Knoester, Leo Abena and Eldar Civic in defence; Bálint Vécsei, Anderson Esiti, Adama Malouda Traoré, Kristoffer Zachariassen and Marquinhos in midfield; and Ryan Mmaee up front.

Davide Massa was the referee who officiated the match at the BayArena stadium.

The victory obtained this Thursday allows B. Leverkusen to arrive calmly to face Ferencváros next Thursday, March 16, in the match which will define the ticket for the quarter-finals.
